SUFFRAGAN BISHOP RON E. STEPHENS

Suffragan Bishop Ron E. Stephens is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and a graduate of Soldan High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. He continued his education at Saint Louis University, where he received a Master’s Degree in Management.

Suffragan Bishop Stephens was employed with METRO (formerly Bi-State Development Agency) as Service Area Director of the DeBaliviere Station for thirty-three years.

Suffragan Bishop Stephens is a former member of the Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served under the tutelage of the late Bishop James A. Johnson.

He served in many capacities such as the president of the Bethesda Temple Young People’s Department, an instructor at the Bethesda Temple Bible Institute, President of the Bethesda Temple Men’s Ministry, and as a Sunday school teacher for the Relationship Building Class. He also served as President and Auxiliary Director of the Midwestern District Council Men’s Ministry, Secretary to the Advisory Board.

Suffragan Bishop Stephens is an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. For over thirty years he has traveled extensively preaching and teaching the Gospel in Germany, Israel, England, and the United States.

Suffragan Bishop Stephens was installed as pastor of the Temple Church of Christ in 2008.  He is the fourth minister to hold the position as pastor at Temple Church of Christ in the church’s 98 years of history. Under his leadership and with the help of the Lord, the congregation has grown from 13 to approximately 200 members. “Hitherto has the Lord helped us!”

Suffragan Bishop Stephens is married to Dorretta (Marks) Stephens and is the father of two daughters and a son, Sophia, Sarah (Biobele), and Sam.
