Communion Sunday Message: “I Smell Blood”
September 29, 2024
Join us this Sunday at our Communion Service as Suffragan Bishop Ron E. Stephens delivers a life-changing message titled, “I Smell Blood.”
This message is taken from the tragic story of Abel and Cain in Genesis 4. In verse 10 after Cain kills Able, God says, “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” In other words, God “smells blood”—the blood of the innocent, the blood of the oppressed, the blood of the wronged.
When Jesus hung on the cross, His blood was spilled, and the fragrance of that blood reached heaven. God smelled the blood of His Son—the perfect, sinless, spotless Lamb of God. As we take Communion, I wonder: Can God smell the blood on your life?; Does your worship carry the aroma of His Son’s sacrifice?; or Is it stale and lifeless, devoid of the blood that speaks life?
Join us for this transformative Communion message.
